DailyWall turns each habit into a paper note that appears on your wall, and therefore on your Lock Screen, on the days you pick. You tap + on the paper to fill progress dots, like 3 of 8 glasses of water. Missed days simply fade instead of breaking a streak; one habit is free and Pro unlocks unlimited habits.
Most habit apps fail in the same quiet way: you install them full of good intentions, and a week later you simply stop opening them. The habit didn't fail; the reminder did. In the next DailyWall update, habits become small paper notes that hang on your wall by themselves on the days you choose. And because your DailyWall wall is also your iPhone Lock Screen wallpaper, the habit is right there under the clock every time you pick up your phone. No extra app to remember, no streak counter shouting at you.
Research on habit formation keeps returning to one unglamorous idea: cues matter more than motivation. A habit sticks when something in your day reliably reminds you to do it, until doing it becomes automatic. Most of us unlock our phones dozens of times a day, so the Lock Screen is the most-seen surface we own.
A typical habit tracker hides your goals inside an app you have to open. DailyWall works the other way round. Your wall of paper notes becomes your Lock Screen wallpaper through a one-time Shortcuts automation, so a habit paper with its progress dots is visible without opening anything. You see "Read 20 pages" while you check the time, and that small nudge does most of the work.
If you have never put notes on your Lock Screen before, start with our guide on how to put notes on your iPhone Lock Screen. The habit feature builds on exactly the same wall.
Eight categories, 44 ready-made habits
Habits are grouped into eight categories so you can find something that fits your life rather than an idealised one: Health, Movement, Mind, Learning, Productivity, Home & life, Relationships and Money. Inside them are 44 templates, from drinking water and reading to evening walks and saving a little each week, and you can always create your own habit from scratch.
What makes the templates useful is that each one asks its own questions. A water habit asks how many glasses a day and how big your glass is. A reading habit asks whether you measure in pages or minutes, how many, and which book you are reading. A meditation habit asks how long, and whether you sit in silence, follow a guided session or focus on your breath. You answer in a few taps, and the paper is written for you.
How it works in 4 steps
Tick the steps as you go
Gentle by design: no streak guilt
Streaks are motivating right up to the day you break one. Then a red zero can make the whole habit feel ruined, and many people quit at exactly that moment. I didn't want DailyWall to work like that.
If you miss a day, that day's habit paper is not carried over to tomorrow and there is no red warning. It simply stays faded on its own day, like a note you didn't get to. Tomorrow a fresh paper appears and you start again with a clean page. A habit is something you return to, not a test you can fail.
Make each habit feel like yours
Every habit comes with its own set of 3 washi tapes and 3 stickers designed for it, so your water paper looks different from your reading paper at a glance. You can also choose the paper look when you set the habit up. It sounds like a small thing, but a wall you enjoy looking at is a wall you keep looking at.
Habit papers sit alongside your ordinary notes, checklists and shopping lists, so your Lock Screen shows your whole day in one place instead of splitting it across apps.
Free vs Pro
The free version of DailyWall includes one habit, and habit papers do not count toward the free limit of 5 notes a day. No account is needed, and nothing is written to your Photos library.
Pro unlocks unlimited habits, along with unlimited notes, iCloud sync and the sticker, tape and wall packs. Pro is available monthly or yearly. Start with one habit; if it sticks, add the next.
Can I put a habit tracker on my iPhone Lock Screen?
Yes. DailyWall turns your wall of notes into your Lock Screen wallpaper, so a habit paper with its progress dots shows under the clock. The habits feature arrives in the next DailyWall update.
What happens if I miss a day?
Nothing dramatic. The paper for that day stays faded on its own day and isn't carried over. There is no streak counter and no red warning; the next day starts fresh.
Is the habit tracker free?
One habit is free, and habit papers don't count toward the 5 free notes a day. Pro unlocks unlimited habits.
Can I create my own habit?
Yes. Besides the 44 templates you can set up any habit of your own and choose its days, time, reminder, paper look and optional end date.
Can I run a 30-day challenge?
Yes. Give the habit an end date when you set it up, and its papers stop appearing after that day.
Do I need an account?
No. DailyWall works without an account. iCloud sync is available with Pro.
