Accessibility in DailyWall

Quick answer

Yes. DailyWall works with VoiceOver, Voice Control, Larger Text (with a Reading mode), Increase Contrast, Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency.

DailyWall is a wall of paper notes, and everyone should be able to read it, write on it and tidy it, whether they look at it, listen to it or speak to it. This page lists what the app supports today, on iPhone and iPad. Everything follows the settings you already chose in Settings → Accessibility; there is nothing extra to set up.

VoiceOver

The wall starts with a short summary, such as “Tuesday wall, 4 notes, 2 done”. Notes are then read in reading order, top to bottom and from the start of each row (right to left in Arabic and Hebrew), with a short position hint like “top left”.

Each note is a single item: its first line, the number of checklist items done, its time, whether it is a priority, and whether it has a photo, a drawing or stickers (up to three sticker names). The rest of the text and the checklist are under “More Content”.

Everything you do with your fingers on the wall has a named action: Complete, Edit, Move, Rotate, Connect with string and Throw away. The rotor jumps between open and finished notes.

Voice Control

Notes answer to their short title, so “Tap Buy milk” opens that note. The New note button, the trash can, the tabs and the editor tabs have short spoken names too.

Larger text and Reading mode

Text in the app follows Dynamic Type. At the largest accessibility sizes, notes on a wall would have to become tiny, so DailyWall offers Reading mode: the day’s notes as one large, single-column list you can read, tick off and open. Your wall itself does not change. Turn it on when the app suggests it, or any time in Settings → Accessibility.

Small controls that cannot grow, such as the tab bar, show a large version when you touch and hold them (Large Content Viewer).

Motion, contrast and transparency

With Reduce Motion on, notes do not crumple or swing, and “Throw away” sends a note straight to the trash without the throwing game. The game also stays off with VoiceOver or Switch Control, and you can turn it off in Settings → Accessibility.

With Increase Contrast on, the app’s accent and secondary text colors get darker (or lighter in Dark Mode). With Reduce Transparency on, glass panels become solid.

Nothing relies on color alone: a finished note is also marked with a check and a curled corner, and VoiceOver says “Done”.

Languages

The app is available in 34 languages, including right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew, where the wall, gestures and reading order are mirrored.

Questions people ask

Can I use DailyWall with VoiceOver?

Yes. The wall reads a summary first, then each note as one item in reading order, with actions to complete, edit, move or throw away a note.

What is Reading mode?

A single-column list of the day’s notes in large text, for the largest text sizes. Your wall’s layout stays the same.
